Iguazú
The great cataracts where the jungle meets the falling water.
— Trajet —
Jet 1 h 50 from Buenos Aires
The Iguazú Falls are among the most overwhelming natural spectacles on earth — two hundred and seventy cascades thundering across nearly three kilometres of subtropical forest on the Argentine-Brazilian frontier. FFGR Argentina arranges arrival at the only hotel within the Argentine national park, the Gran Meliá, whose terrace looks directly onto the cataracts, and private access to the Devil's Throat walkway before the crowds arrive at dawn. We coordinate helicopter flights over the falls from the Brazilian side, boat approaches to the base of the spray, and quiet jungle walks with a naturalist guide who reads the calls of the toucans and the trails of the coatis. It is a place of immense scale, best experienced slowly, with time held in reserve for the silence after the noise.
